The latest version of BitMask, version 0.5.2, has been released to the public over this weekend. This release includes several new features and improvements to the existing functionality.
Major new features in BitMask 0.5.2:
- Audio UDAs minting compatibility with the DIBA marketplace
- Playback of Audio UDAs within the wallet
- Lightning support now added to the web wallet, in addition to the extension
- Wallet UI fixes and improvements
Music UDAs
One of the main new improvements is the support for the music assets. This will allow you to add more variety and creativity to your projects. In order to ensure that all music uploads are legal and safe, we have implemented an API that verifies whether the uploaded music is copyrighted or not. This process involves prescanning the music before it is minted. This ensures that all users can have a worry-free experience while using our platform even on the Testnet, and can focus solely on creating amazing content without having to worry about copyright issues.
In addition, our audio UDAs can be played back directly within our wallet, offering a convenient listening experience for you. With this feature, you would be able to enjoy your favourite music and audio content without ever having to leave the wallet interface.
This integration between audio UDAs and BitMask is just one example of our commitment to creating a user-friendly and innovative platform that meets the needs of music creators community.
We have more exciting news coming for the music creators, which will allow them to provide phygital (physical-to-digital) experience to their fans while having their content secured on Bitcoin.
Notifications
We are thrilled to announce that our latest BitMask release brings you an exciting new feature! Now, you can stay on top of all your UDA’s related wallet activities with ease, thanks to the introduction of notifications.
At this time, we currently do not offer transaction notifications beyond minting, but we are actively working towards expanding our capabilities to include notifications for both LN and L1.
LN support
Both the BitMask web wallet and extension now fully support LN (Lightning Network). To get started with LN on BitMask, you can test it out using testnet LN sats.
These testnet sats are essentially fake Bitcoin that can be used for testing purposes without any real value. You can grab your testnet LN sats by following the link provided and use them to try out the Lightning Network functionality on BitMask.
If you’re new to using LN (Lightning Network), here are the steps to receive Bitcoin:
- Open your BitMask Wallet and select the “Receive” option.
- Choose “Receive Bitcoin through Lightning” from the available options.
- Enter the description and the amount of Bitcoin you want to receive.
- Click on “Next” and then either copy the Lightning Request or scan the QR code displayed to receive your Bitcoin through the Lightning Network.
Stay connected with DIBA for the latest updates.
