Sending Bitcoin on L1:

  1. Open your existing wallet or create a new one. Here’s the article on how to create your first wallet.

2. Press ‘Send’ and choose ‘Send Bitcoin on-chain’ for L1 Bitcoin transactions. Keep in mind that BitMask is a Taproot wallet, and Bitcoin can only be sent to other Taproot-supported wallets. Here is a list of Taproot-supported wallets: list.

3. Enter the recipient’s wallet address or scan the QR code if you’re using the web wallet on your phone. Enter the amount of satoshis (sats) you want to send, choose the transaction fee rate, and click ‘Next’.

4. On the next step, you can double-check your transaction details, and once you are satisfied, click ‘Confirm’.

5. Congratulations! You have made your first Bitcoin L1 transfer in BitMask.

6. Now you can check the status of your payment on the Mempool. Click ‘View Transaction’.

Sending Bitcoin through Lightning Network:

When sending Bitcoin through the Lightning Network (LN), you have two options: whether to send using an invoice or using a username.

Sending Bitcoin through username:
1.Press ‘Send Bitcoin Through Lightning Username.’ Enter the recipient’s username, specify the amount of satoshis (sats) you want to send, and click ‘Next’.

2. Double-check if the username and amount are correct, then press ‘Confirm’.

3. Congratulations! You have successfully completed your first Lightning Network (LN) transaction through username in BitMask.

Sending Bitcoin through Lightning Network Invoice:

To send Bitcoin through LN invoice, the recipient should create and send you details of invoice.

  1. Press ‘Send Bitcoin Through Lightning Invoice,’ scan the QR code if using a web wallet on your phone, or paste the invoice sent by the recipient. Once entered press ‘Next’.

2. At this step, simply press ‘Confirm’ to proceed with the transaction.

3. Congratulations! You have successfully completed your first Lightning Network (LN) transaction through invoice in BitMask.
