Congratulations on installing Bitmask!
We are happy to release this new version with UX-UI improvements, bug fixes, improved error reporting and zero-knowledge analytics.

As an early adopter of this historic wallet, you might be wondering what can you do with Bitmask.

Bitmask is one of the first bitcoin wallets running the most up to date bitcoin software upgrade. With RGB protocol, BitMask has the ability to validate complex bitcoin smart contracts, opening up the gateway to never-seen before utility on the bitcoin web3.

RGB at its core is a digital representation of bearer rights system secured by bitcoin

As the developers of the wallet, we love to refer to bitmask as the cyber lightning bitcoin wallet for the metaverse.

In this piece, we will share some of the things you can do with Bitmask!
Have Fun Testing HFT!💜

BitMask will support Taproot on launch. This means that every user gets a taproot address which provides you with more security and sovereignty over your assets in addition to much less gas fees.

Send and Receive Sats (bitcoins)

Fund your wallet with free test bitcoins. You can get them here. Send and receive sats. To have more fun, join our telegram or discord community to find test buddies.

Bitcoin Smart Contracts and RGB (LNP/BP)

BitMask is the first web wallet running RGB on bitcoin testnet.
RGB is a scalable & confidential smart contracts system for Bitcoin & lightning network. It is the result of extensive research and experimentations since 2016. At genesis, assets are tied directly to the bitcoin blockchain via utxos while the RGB protocol handles state evolution.

RGB at its core is a digital representation of bearer rights system secured by bitcoin and private by default.
It is not a side-chain. Rather, a DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) on top of bitcoin and lightning network which leverages client-side validation and single-use seals paradigms.

Import Assets

Since RGB is private by default, before you can interact with any smart contract or asset, your wallet has to be aware of the existence of such asset.

import custom assets (for advanced users)

To import custom assets, you will need either the assetID or the genesis contract data of the asset. This information is generated when you mint a new RGB asset.

BitMask currently supports only RGB assets that are issued from DIBA’s version of RGB node. Asset support is available in the telegram chat. Upon RGB release, BitMask will be compatible with any RGB assets, irrespective of the point of issuance.

Search & Select (Recommended)

For ease of use, we are running RGB nodes that are aware of certain assets. All you have to do is select any of them and your wallet will be aware of such assets. Now you are ready to send and receive assets.

In this example, we selected an asset called STABLECOIN. You can select as many assets as you feel like. Now you are ready to receive or send such assets

Minting of assets are done using different tool which is being built for the public . However, in the near future, you will be able to mint your own assets.

It’s important to note that BitMask is only a wallet and not an NFT marketplace. The DIBA marketplace is under development and will connect in a very intuitive and easy to use way with BitMask.

Uniqueness of RGB Assets & Client-side validation

Accept transactions

BitMask allows you to have full control over which assets that can ever be in your wallet. When a user sends you an asset, you get to decide if you want to interact with such contracts or not.

This saves you from the headaches of being spammed by people promoting useless coins and NFTs. It prevents you from smart-contract spyware (as seen in other blockchains, where strangers send corrupt smart-contracts to wallet in attempts to engage in illicit activities) and gives you full sovereignty over your assets.

BitMask allows you to have full control over which assets that can be in your wallet. When a user sends you an asset, you get to decide if you want to interact with such contract or not, by clicking Accept

BitMask currently works only on Bitcoin’s L1 on testnet. However, it will be supporting Lightning network in a matter of months.
